Minix Neo X7 do not turn off just always standby :-(

Good evening,

I unfortunately a trouble with my Minix Neo X7. every time I turn the box and turn on the logo depends all the time. I also played several image on it is always the same. Does anyone have a tip for me. thank you in advance

X7 cannot connect on 5Ghz?

I have been using the CE250 firmware for sometime now. Everything is OK so far. But recently I bought a new wifi router capable of both 2.4 and 5Ghz channels and I noticed that my X7 box could not connect to 5Ghz channel and there was no where in the Settings to enable the X7 box to receive the wifi on 5Ghz though the wifi router was only a few meters away from the X7 box. The box connected on 2.4Ghz without any issues.
Can anyone help please?

i cannot even launch my neo x7 as it has ransomware on it instructing me I need to pay 100 euros. Cannot work out how to get past it :-( Any help really appreciated.

Pretty much have a locked up box. Only have a mac. Wondering if there is a way to do a factory restore from the SD card.

Sorry if i am at the wrong place ...

I have a minix neo x7
model number neo-x7-216a
Android versions 4.2.2
kernel version 3.0.36+
build number is : rk31 sdk-eng 4.2.2 JDQ39 eng.root.20131227.154530 test-keys
vendor software version is 2013-12-274.2.008


now I have no idea what any of this means, i am trying to update it OTA but it keeps saying that its up to date and my minix is running really slow and way too many bugs,
tried to manually update it , downloaded the new version but im on...

On the site of Kodi i read the following text about Kodi v17 "Krypton" (alpha version)
With v17 we have started to clean up all the old implementations which sadly also means we had to set the minimum Android version to at least 5.0 Lollipop. It’s uncertain at this time if we even hove to go higher and set minimum to Android 6.0 Marshmallow as this contains certain features we need to improve Kodi. For now you are safe if you at least have Android 5.0 Don’t worry you can keep using Kodi v16...

hey guys, i'm a newbie here.

have been using a MINIX-Neo x7-216A from local distributor since end 2013 and have never done any firmware update as the settings update page was never working. The local service staff did upgrade once to a 4.2.2 version for me during one of my walk-in servicing trip.

I just followed the thread given HERE for flashing...

Problems when flashing X7, hangs at 5.3 test device fails

Hello

I am trying to flash my X7.

I have tried some different images for X7, some newer, some older but I always have the same problem.

When I go into recovery mode and try to "restore" via the rockchip batch tool 1.8.
My X7 shows up green as "5.3" and then start immediately with "testing the device" and then it says "test device fail".

I would like to start the flash procedure from scratch but I have no idea how to do it.

Anybody can help ?

Kodi 17 Installations.

Hi Folks,
I have tried installing several different downloads of kodi 17 on my X7 but keep getting the message " there was a problem parsing the package " on both my boxes. I have installed several different versions in the past with no problem. I tried installing KitKat a while ago in case that was the problem, but I have Windows 10 and it won't work.
Anyone got any suggestions ?

Audio Sync

Hi Guys,

Really looking for some help with my X7. It doesnt seem to matter what app I use. Showbox, Kodi etc, the audio on my shows is always out of sync.

Is there any options I can toggle to see if it can fix these issues. I am always having to set kodi to 250 or 300 ms offset audio.

Any information would help.

Today I upgraded my Minix X7 from 4.2.2 to the CE 4.4.2 version 250.

I thought the Minix would be more reliable and I'm trying to stream with Minix x7 the live news channel Al-Jazeera and France 24 which live streams are available on you tube. The Minix X7 will not play the streams and I get the message ''There was a problem while playing, click any key to retry'' the stream does not play and the message keeps popping up.

Those streams are all playing and working on all my other Android...

I have an extra M1 air mouse which belonged to my X8 H box which I have tried to use on my X7.

Booting up linux for sd card

Hi

On the Ian MORRISON (Linuxium) page there is a image of a disk that allows to boot up Ubuntu 12.04, (this is only one that works on Neo 7, a try various on lubuntu 13.04, xubunt 13.04, debian 7 ... etc)

Is there any way to boot-up from sd card newer version of the Linux on Minix NEO x7 ?
Is there any tutorial that allows to create custom images that are compatible with current (Kitkat 250) firmware Minix NEO 7 ?

I would be grateful for any tip.

Hello Guys.

I hope you can help us solve the bugs in streaming.
We introduced the first official kitkat firmwares for X5/X5min/X7/X7mini.

You might noticed that inside the android settings there is a new option in Display settings called "HLS configuration" with the option to change to 0,1,2 and 3.
( Android Settings > Display > HLS configuration)

We build this feature to make the firmware compatable with more streaming apps.
Most apps will run just fine under the default ( 0 ).
